• Solubility : Practically insoluble in water and in ethanol 95 %


• Alkalinity : Complies as I.P./B.P./U.S.P.


• Arsenic : Not more than 4 ppm


• Heavy Metals : Not more than 40 ppm


• Chloride : Note more than 500 ppm


• Sulphate : Not more than 0.5% ppm


• Acid absorption : Not less than 100 ml. of 0.1m Hydrochloric acid required to neutralise 1.0 gm.


• Water soluble salts : Not more than 30 mg per Gm.


• Loss on Ignition : Not less than 17.0% & not more than 34.0%


• Magnesium oxide : Not less than 29.0%


• Silicone Dioxide : Not less than 65.0
